Baseball Baby Quilts {Finished Quilts}

These two quilts are ready to be sent off for snuggling! The best news is that the boys have "graduated" from the NICU and are at home!

I quilted both of these quilts with a loop-and-stars meander in white thread. I picked out this great flannel print for the backings of both quilts. I made a tiny mistake and underestimated how much the flannel would shrink in washer and dryer (I always pre-wash flannel!) so I ended up trimming my quilts to be square rather than rectangular. Next time I'll just get the extra half yard!

I bound one quilt with the yellow and one with the blue fabric. I did bind these by machine to speed up the process.

I think these quilts bring me up to a whopping 40 finishes in 2018!

  1. Such cute twin quilts! So glad the boys have left the NICU and are at home. I'm sure they'll get lots of use and enjoyment out of these quilts.

  2. Hi Alison! What cute quilts and how fun the fabrics are. The backing is just perfect! I have PINned your cute quilting with loops and stars. That is just the kind of thing I like to do . . . but remembering options sometimes stumps me. I'll bet both Benjamin and Matthew will enjoy these quilts for many years to come. Happy Happy Wednesday to you. ~smile~ Roseanne

  3. 40 finished for the year is very impressive! These are sweet and I like that they are similar but not completely identical.

  4. Very beautiful Quilts. So pretty. That's alot of quilts :-)

  5. Adorable quilts! Yes, flannel shrinks like crazy! I always finish kids quilts on the sewing machine - I hope they get washed and loved a lot and the machine sewing is stronger than my hand sewing. Wow, 40 finishes is amazing!!!

  6. Hip, Hip, Hooray! Both for the twins quitls and for your 40 finishes. That's awesome.

  7. Very fun finishes! Wow, 40 finishes? Congrats on a very productive 2018.

  8. Such great news to hear the boys are home now! And those quilts will keep them warm and happy. What a terrific way to celebrate two new little lives :)
