Stash Bee {September and October}

Time to share my last two months' worth of Stash Bee blocks!

In September, Laura requested rainbow shades of star blocks. I made a turquoise block for her:

She also posted a picture of all of the blocks she had received this weekend:

This is going to turn out so lovely!

This month, we made versions of the Spinwheel block from Blossom Heart Quilts for Tanyia. Here's my version:

While I'm not usually a big fan of stitch and flip flying geese, these blocks are COOL. With the way the colors are arranged, lots of secondary (and tertiary!) pinwheels are created when blocks are combined. The navy that I used was quite dark, so I used the black polka dot print to give it a little more contrast.

It's hard to believe that I only have one more block to make for this year's edition of the Stash Bee! It's even harder to believe that I am (finally) stepping away from being the Bee Mama after TWO YEARS of running the whole bee and three years of being a Hive Mama. I am currently listed as a "backup" Hive Mama but I am looking forward to taking a little break from logistics and harassing people about their blocks being late. :)

Sharing at Let's Bee Social!

  1. It is definitely hard to believe that there is only one month to go in the Stash Bee year. Thank you so much for your leadership these past 2 years.

  2. Love your block! I have seen so many HST quilts lately that I had to really LOOK at your block and see the geese instead of HSTs! Love the way they are done.

  3. These blocks look so lovely together. I especially like the tone of the backgrounds with them.

  4. Fun blocks! The rainbow star quilt is going to be beautiful.
