My mom had planned to come out this weekend and we were going to go to the quilt show in Lancaster, but then I got engaged and this weekend became "wedding dress shopping weekend." (We succeeded, FYI. Smiles all around.)
She brought me my quilted New York Beauty Quilt and I LOVE the clam shell pantograph on it. It really picks up on all of the arcs in the design.
And here are some binding in process pictures...
And here is the finished lovely!
Yay for the wedding dress!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love your quilt--it's such an impressive design. Well done!
Congratulations on choosing the wedding dress. That is a huge item to check off the to do list. I love your NYB.
ReplyDeleteI agree, well done on the wedding dress! The NYB is gorgeous, and clamshell is one of my favourite quilting designs.
ReplyDeleteFab quilt, great to see it finished and thrilled for you about your dress that's got to be an even bigger tick on your 'to do' list?! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on getting engaged and this beautiful quilt :)
ReplyDeleteWow - your quilt is amazing, and I'm sure the dress is too! :o)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! And I love the quilting!!
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful. It must have taken a lot of patience to make.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great quilt--it looks really difficult! Yours turned out beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up and congrats on your engagement...maybe a dog or cat is in your future when you are done with school and married;)
Hi Alison ... dropped by through the link in from Busy Bee Quilts. Love your quilts!
ReplyDeleteVisiting as well today from Let's Get Acquainted Link-up. This is a really neat quilt and has a cool optical effect. Congrats as well on your engagement!
ReplyDeleteOh wow!!! Gorgeous. I also looove the clam shells-works perfectly. Good job on the dress - how exciting!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt
ReplyDeleteThis pretty New York Beauty reminds me a bit of the southwest.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on finding your wedding dress!
OH my. What a gorgeous New York Beauty! That design is on my bucket list but I think it may get done closer to...the bucket end. :) Are you at Penn State? Grad student + chemistry + Lancaster PA makes me suspicious...I went to PSU for my MA in English, graduated (geez) '07!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful finish to celebrate a beautiful beginning. Congratulations, and this quilt is stunning!
