Burlap Brights Blog Hop and Giveaway!

Today I am guest posting over at Sew in Love with Fabric as a part of Benartex's Burlap Brights Blog Hop!  Welcome to any new visitors coming over from the blog hop -- I hope you stay a while!


Benartex sent me a mini bundle of six fat quarters of their new line of Burlap Brights fabrics to design a block as a part of their blog hop (which started Monday and runs through the 21st!). While I am not a big fan of burlap in the traditional sense, I definitely liked working with these fabrics!


I decided to design a rainbow star and it draws inspiration from two of my favorite blocks -- Ohio star and weathervane!

    Thank you for the lovely tuturial/block. I am partial to any hue of blue and they have a lovely bunch. The colors and textures of these burlaps are drool worthy.

    Wow! Your block is stunning. I love following blog hops when I have time because it seems I will always see something I never would have thought of myself. I don't think I would have combined the two blocks as you have with this one. I love the center of your block. And these colors are awesome. I've never used or seen the burlap fabrics but would love to because all I think of when I hear burlap is that stuff from my childhood that had such a horrible smell. I'm sure this is not the case with these.

    My favorite of the new brights is the Grape, but I really am drawn to the Denim. The Denim looks like it would be fun to use in quilts too.

I wonder if the Google Friend Connect was still working back then and that's how I followed because I just subscribed via email and it accepted me rather than to give the results that I'm already subscribed.
