Up in the Air {New Applique Pattern!}

 We've added another applique add-on to our Etsy and Payhip shops for use with our Ready Set Soar and Boot Scootin' Baby patterns!

Our "Up In the Air" hot air balloon appliques are another perfect baby quilt option!

Inspired by the hot air balloon fabric she used in this quilt, Amanda made this baby quilt for a good friend last year! The PDF includes applique templates for three different sizes of balloons and two different sizes of clouds.

Don't forget our other add-on applique options! Both Whales on Parade and Slow and Steady are perfect for little boy quilts!

All of these appliques are interchangable with our Ready Set Soar and Boot Scootin' Baby patterns! And of course, the options for the quilt bases are only limited by your own imagination!

As always, thank your for your support of our Etsy and Payhip shops!

Aztec Lagoon (Pattern Now Available!)

 Another new pattern to share today!

Aztec Lagoon is an easy quilt for strips with multiple size options! The wall hanging (or baby) sized version uses 2.5" strips. The cover quilt and the rainbow alternate both shown below are the wall hanging sized version. I quilted the rainbow version a long while ago when my sister was originally testing the pattern!

The larger versions of the quilt -- the throw and twin sized options -- use 3.5" strips in the same arrangement to make larger quilts!

Here's a mock up of the quilt with the colorway reversed. The pattern also includes a coloring sheet for you to design your own colorway!

Aztec Lagoon is available on Etsy and on Payhip! Make sure to use the hashtags #HBDpatterns #AztecLagoon #AztecRainbow on Instagram when you make your versions of this quilt! Don't forget to follow us on Facebook and join our Facebook group as well!

Daisy Chain {Pattern Now Available!}

Hip hip hooray! The full pattern of our previous QAL quilt, Daisy Chain, is now available! This pattern is now available in our Etsy and Payhip shops.

I have now made three different Daisy Chain Quilts!

To see the full quilt top parade from the quilt along last year, CLICK HERE.

The pattern includes four different size options: baby, throw, twin, and queen. The pattern is perfect for confident beginners. The main techniques used in this quilt are strip piecing and making QST units.

This quilt also can use some of those 2.5" strips you have hanging around! The quilt is written to be easily adaptable to yardage, scraps, or a combination of the two.

Interested in using this pattern for your guild or quilt shop? This pattern would be a great choice for a six session class or quilt along. Contact us for quilt shop and guild pricing at honeybunnyanddoll@gmail.com if you are interested!

Twinkle Pattern -- Now Available! {HBD Pattern Premiere + Giveaway}

I'm so excited to share that our Twinkle pattern is now (finally!) available! A twist on the classic friendship star block, Twinkle uses a nested star design to create a modern star quilt.

I had originally made this quilt last winter for our Island Batik Ambassador hop. This uses the Mountain's Majesty line.

While working on finalizing this pattern, I also made a baby size version of the quilt that is also included in the pattern. I used the Paisley Dot collection for this quilt.

This pattern is now available on Etsy and PayHip!! The pattern includes the directions for three sizes. The baby size version which finishes at 42" x 36" and the throw size version which finishes at 72" x 54". The pattern also includes a twin sized option which adds two borders to the throw size quilt; the twin version will finish at 88" x 70". Here's the twin-sized diagram:

This sparkling quilt pattern is deceptively simple and is perfect for layer cakes and fat quarter bundles. You can actually make all of the blocks for the twin or throw size version from a single layer cake and background fabric!

In celebration of today's pattern premiere, I'll be giving away the last sixteen 10" squares from my Paisley Dot stacker, which I used to make the baby size version of this quilt.

Two entry options:
1. For everyone -- leave a comment with what fabric line or colors you would use to make your own version of Twinkle.
2. If you've made a version of *any* Honey, Bunny, and Doll pattern or quilt along, send me an email (littlebunnyquilts@gmail.com) with a photo of your project for a second entry.

The giveaway will close on Friday, October 19th!

Update: Scottylover aka Sandy is our winner!

I can't wait to see your version of this fun and easy pattern! Share your pictures on Instagram with the hashtags #HBDpatterns and #TwinkleQuilt! Join the Honey, Bunny, and Doll Facebook Group to be a part of the inner circle to know about pattern premieres and quilt alongs first!

Boot Scootin' Baby {Pattern Premiere}

We have quite a few new Honey, Bunny, and Doll patterns in the pipeline and I am so excited to share the first of those with you today!

Introducing Boot Scootin' Baby!

Our Ready, Set, Soar! pattern has been such a huge hit we decided that we needed to come up with a "companion pattern" that uses 2.5" strips! This quilt is constructed differently than Ready, Set, Soar! but still has infinite options for the applique of your choice!

The original cowboy and cowgirl quilts were made with the Howdy line from Moda (which you can still find in a few places!) as well as some stash fabrics mixed in. The pattern includes the full directions to make the quilt top from 2.5" strips and yardage for the center, in addition to the templates for the boots and horseshoe.

Not expecting a little cowboy or cowgirl? Exchange out the appliques to fit the nursery theme or interests of the child! Any of the applique templates that you've used for Ready, Set, Soar! will also be the right size and scale for the Boot Scootin' Baby pattern, like our free Whales on Parade template set!

You can get the pattern on Etsy and Craftsy! As with all of our patterns, we love to see your versions of our patterns, so please add pictures of them in our Honey, Bunny, and Doll Facebook group!

Ready, Set, Soar! {Pattern Premiere}

In the midst of moving (we got the keys to our new place yesterday!), I'm excited to share our newest Honey, Bunny, and Doll pattern! Say hello to Ready, Set, Soar!

Ready, Set, Soar! is our newest baby quilt pattern that Amanda designed for the first baby of one of her best friends. She used their airplane themed nursery to be inspired and came up with a plane carrying the little man's name on a banner! Seriously, how cute is this little guy?

This pattern includes all of the instructions to make the quilt top as well as applique patterns for the airplane and an entire alphabet!

We loved the basic "bones" of this pattern so much we keep coming up with other ideas to change up the design! My mom took the basic quilt top pattern and added little whales instead of an airplane!

So for your pleasure we have two applique pattern add-ons to Ready, Set, Soar! -- Whales on Parade as well as an adorable little turtle!

Ready, Set, Soar! is only $7 with infinite possibilities!

I've made two versions of this quilt -- a mermaid version and a butterfly version.

Bear Tracks Pattern Premiere and Giveaway!

I am so excited to share Honey, Bunny, and Doll's newest pattern with you today -- Bear Tracks!

This quilt is made in Heather Rosas' Winter Wonderland line! This fabric is absolutely adorable! Perfect inspiration in the midst of all of the snow we've gotten in the DC area lately!

We also just posted this pattern and fabric as a quilt kit on Etsy! The kit includes the pattern, fat quarter bundle, and the backing -- all for $70!

This is our first pattern that includes a pattern for its mini version -- and you don't have to buy it separately! Not only that, but you can make both the wall hanging/throw quilt AND the mini quilt from one quilt kit!

So how about a giveaway for a copy of the pattern? Leave me a comment with what fabric line you would use to make your own version of the Bear Tracks quilt! Winner will be announced on Monday!

As for me, I've started my own version of this quilt in pink, brown, and white for a baby girl quilt! These are the fabrics I'll be using:

As always, don't forget to follow Honey, Bunny, and Doll on Facebook for flash sales and pattern premieres!

Pattern Premiere: Dashing to the Chapel

I am SO excited to share that the quilt that the quilt that I helped make as a wedding present for my sister has been made into an AMAZING pattern!

Since it was originally a wedding quilt, we decided to call it "Dashing to the Chapel". The quilt is made up of all churn dashes -- in three different sizes. Some of the large blocks have little bitty 4 inch churn dashes nested inside!

We used the Modern Roses collection to make the quilt and we can't wait to see how you all take it and make it your own! It's perfect for a fat quarter bundle, but a scrappy version would also be amazing!
This pattern is currently on special for only $5 for a short while longer -- get it while it is on sale! You can snap it up on Etsy! Don't forget to pick up your background and backing fabric from us too!

PS. Come back tomorrow because there may or may not be a new FREE HBD quilt design being published!

Pattern Premiere: Beau's Ties!

If you follow Honey, Bunny, and Doll designs on Facebook, you would have noticed that I've posted a few sneak peeks of a pattern I've been working on this summer. Today I finally get to share Beau's Ties with you! I've been anxiously anticipating the final version being ready for publication so I can finally share this as a finished quilt!

I love classic quilt blocks and what I love even more is putting a new twist on a classic block!

Each block in this pattern is composed of one large bowtie and two smaller bowties nestled together! While it might look complicated, the basic skills needed for this block are as follows: half-square triangles, stitch and flip corners, and making four patches. If you're a confident beginner, this is a great option for you!

I made my quilt with fabrics from the Crazy Daisy line of fabric and used black Kona as the background fabric. The binding and backing are the same fabric also from the Crazy Daisy line. I quilted it with all over loop-de-loops in black thread.

This pattern can be found on Etsy! We can't wait to see YOUR versions of this quilt, so don't forget to share them on Craftsy and on the HBD Flickr group!
