The quilting was quick and easy -- I chose to do an all over loopy meander. Not terribly exciting or involved, but perfect for a baby quilt.
I used blue flannel for the backing to make it extra cuddly.
The binding is the bright blue print. I learned a hard lesson a few years back when I bound a flannel-backed quilt with a flannel binding and will never, ever do that again!
Now this quilt will sit and wait until it is called into service!
Quilt Stats:

great quilt! don't think I've ever tried flannel for binding, but have on occasion quilted with it as backing.
ReplyDeleteI hear you on a flannel binding! If I really need to do that, I go with a wide binding to help myself out a bit (say, 3" double fold). The finish looks great and I bet it is so snuggly with the flannel on the back!
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful pattern and gorgeous colors!
ReplyDeleteadorable
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful quilt! I love the summer colors. I've never tried flannel anything ... why do you say flannel binding + flannel backing is a bad combo?
ReplyDeletePrecious quilt!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Alison,
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty LBQ. I am 100% the mom and baby that receive this quilt will love it and feel all the love that was stitched into it. ~smile~ Roseanne
So pretty - I like to back baby and toddlers quilts in flannel too, makes them extra warm and snuggly.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Love the bright and happy colors.
ReplyDeleteLove how you did the back! But what's bad about flannel binding with flannel backing?
