Our September Island Batik Ambassador theme is *Starstruck*! Quilters love star quilts!
For this project, I decided to work on a baby sized version of my Twinkle quilt using the layer cake of Paisley Dot that came in my most recent Island Batik Ambassador box. As an Island Batik Ambassador, I am provided with samples of various lines of Island Batik fabrics to use and share with you!
Now is a perfect time to remake this pattern -- This pattern is now available on Etsy and PayHip!! As a refresher, here's my original Twinkle quilt, made with the Mountain Majesty collection from Island Batik:
I pulled pink and teal fabrics from the layer cake above to make nine Twinkle star blocks for a baby quilt.
Nine blocks and a few spacers sewn together and the quilt top is done! This setting with spacers gives a quilt that is 42" x 36".
I will need to make a quick trip to grab some flannel for the back of this baby quilt. But in the meantime, let's do another giveaway of some great Island Batik goodies!
I still have 2/3rds of my Paisley Dot 10" stacker, so I will be giving away a dozen 10" squares (which comes out to just under a yard of fabric) in the color scheme of your choosing! I've used the pink and the teal squares, but there are still plenty of beautiful colors of 10" squares!
I love your star pattern. Your color choices are beautiful. I would use the purple and green combo, which I seem to be stuck on right now!! Thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteI think both stacks are great! Right now I am in love with blues mixed with yellow, purple and gold. So either stack would be nice to receive. Your Twinkle quilt is darling.
ReplyDeleteI love the Friendship Star, and your take on it for Twinkle is just lovely. I especially love the baby version with the offsets. Whatever baby receives this will be quite lucky! My favourite colour is yellow and my second favourite colour is 'anything bright', so I don't think there's a single slice of that layer cake I wouldn't love!
ReplyDeleteLove the pink and teal combo. I would pick the cool bundle.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great pattern--I can't think of an age-range or personality-type it wouldn't fit. As for the giveaway, truly, either color choice would be a treat. I have batik scraps in both color ways that I'd love to mix in and make a table runner, so if I'm chosen, I'd love to be surprised.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your Twinkle Star pattern. The baby version in these fabrics is lovely. I use a lot of bright colors right now so the primary stack would be awesome. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteYour Twinkle Star pattern is sweet, and really liking the offset layout with spacers. I'm needing some purples right now for a Dance of the Dragonfly hanging. Thanks for the chance!

That's a charming size and I would go for cool colors. Your quilt is a great size. I love 9 block quilts, they're so fulfilling. Done in a snap and you don't get tired of doing the same block over and over.
ReplyDeleteI love your star quilt with the pink and teal fabrics! I like both stacks, but the cool colors would be my first choice. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI liked how you offset the blocks and flip flopped them. Rainbow (the darker of the colors when you have to pick) and muti colored. 24Tangent@gmail.com
