Finished Lattice Baby Quilt
This afternoon, I finished the last quarter of the hand stitching of the binding of my Lattice Baby Quilt! No outside pictures because they mowed yesterday and it looks like it is about to rain.
I went back and forth about machine quilting this one, but I'm glad I ended up tying it with the all flannel backing.
And I went all out (again) and made bias binding for this one too!
There is a surprise baby shower for the mom this coming Saturday where this will be delivered!
Happy Sunday!

June Stash Bee Blocks
Today I finished up my June blocks for the Stash Bee. This month our hive mama Sandra chose the Great Granny Block via Lori Holt at Bee In My Bonnet. I used up a LOT of scraps because these are made from lots of 2.5" squares.
Of course, I ran out of my light yellow background fabric before finishing the last block. Hopefully that can be forgiven!
Happy Sunday to you!

WIP Wednesday - square projects
I started working on my Stash Bee blocks for the month of June. Our Queen Bee for the month, Sandra chose the Great Granny Block via Lori Holt at Bee In My Bonnet. I finished one block and have one more laid out and ready to go.
I also layered and started tying the lattice baby quilt. Hopefully I can get the tying done tonight and start the binding!

June Lovely Year of Finishes Goal
This month I have to get my Lovely Year of Finishes project done before the last day of the month, unlike I did in May where I finished it minutes before May was over and just before the Lovely Year of Finishes link up closed!
This month I am going to finish a baby quilt for a friend whose surprise baby shower is on June 22.
This one is based off of a Moda Bake Shop Quilt from a while back by Amy Smart from Diary of a Quilter.
Right now I need to get a batting and some light yellow flannel for the backing, which could happen today because I'll be over by Joann's because I'm going to see Star Trek: Into Darkness with some friends. (And I am not afraid to admit I am super excited about it.)
If you haven't been participating in the Lovely Year of Finishes so far, you should join in! It has been a great motivator for me to get things done and I won a gift certificate for participating! I'm all about winning free stuff.
So happy weekends to everyone! Park Ranger Fiance is coming in tonight and we actually get to spend a weekend day together tomorrow! Woo hoo!

Finished Civil War Quilt
After starting this quilt in December 2011 (yes, really it was that long ago!) I am so happy to say that this baby is DONE!
Here is the back that I trimmed all of the leftover threads from. I missed a few and had to do a couple outside before taking the pictures while my neighbors were out walking their dogs.
Close up of the quilting....
Closer up view of the quilting...
This quilt, as many know, is a gift to my fiance who is a seasonal park ranger with the National Parks Service at Antietam and Gettysburg. Except that now that we're getting married in 4 months (4 MONTHS!) I am just going to hang onto it and use it myself because he doesn't have room to store it right now. He can use it when he comes to visit.
