  7. our guild biennial quilt show is in September so I have to finish a couple of entries for that-- one is a Christmas BOM applique and one is a small feathered star that I made in a workshop. I'm on the show committee so I have to help with those duties as well. I am totally in love with your block!

  8. I'll be doing both - working on some small handwork WIPS in the evening and playing with something NEW (always exciting) at my machine during the day. Both are rewarding to play with!

  9. Hi Alison!!! I am working away on Christmas in July projects and trying to tame the wild UFO pile of tricks this summer. Thanks for the chance! Allison (with two Ls...the flow cyto fairy)

  14. I am currently using up my best of morris fabrics making a lap size quilt called "little trips" - it is very labor intensive - just when I see daylight I start on the next step and get mired down again....it will be worth it in the end though.....then I plan to take a summer break from sewing.

  15. I really want to finish the hand quilting and binding on the quilt for our master bedroom!!!

  16. That is a fun variation on the Dutchman's puzzle. I love seeing traditional blocks with a bit of a twist. I think my summer sewing will consist mostly of finishing up old wips. I'm determined to make a dent in my pile!

  18. i have been trying to finish up a quilt for a month now but I've started and finished 2 quilt tops and quilted a whole cloth baby quilt. So I'm beginning to think I'm putting it off for a reason, maybe because I know it really needs to get finished and I don't want to mess it up. This summer i plan to finish and quilt 3 quilts.

  37. Tackling my WIP pile is my mantra this year. So far it seems to be winning. There's a couple special quilts I'd like to finish this summer--Wedding quilts for two of my siblings--one got married last December, the other 2 years ago in November. Would be nice to have them done.

I don't think I will get to work on much of anything. I think the best plan will be to pull out the scraps, leave them on the cutting board, and rotary cut into usable squares when I have a bit of time here and there!

  41. Thank you for the detailed tutorial. I like the dark background you incorporated into your block. I am working on a Storm at Sea quilt. I also have to finish up around 5 WIPs. Thank you for the inspiration, and the giveaway.

  42. I think I will do a little bit of both, whatever time allows. Because I will be busy on some days taking care of my grandbaby. So maybe I can work in a WIP during nap times, and get something new started on days off!

So my goal is to show the members some examples.
